Transition is the internal process of change
Change is inevitable. And, every change sets off an internal chain of events called a transition.
Transition is a natural process that occurs within us. It begins with an “ending” and ends with a new “beginning”.
Depending on your life in the present and how you have dealt with transitions in the past, this process will vary in length, intensity and nature of your response.
Transition will bring a range of feelings and responses – William Bridges, mapped out this process, from the emotional shifts after an ending: denial, shock, anger; to the confusion and uncertainty in the “neutral zone” a time of exploration as we move towards greater clarity and direction; and then the progress towards a new beginning, a time of: creativity, hope and enthusiasm.
When you are up against a wall, be still and put down roots like a tree,
until clarity comes from deeper sources to see over that wall.
